Are you interested in hiking and day excursions in Finnish nature? Join my hiking course for beginners in Helsinki and Vantaa, and learn outdoor skills!
On this course you will learn the basics of outdoor skills. We also go through the outdoor etiquette – how to respect nature and follow good hiking manners on your own excursions in Finnish nature.
I will teach you how to choose a hiking destination, what to pack, how to choose and plan the route and what to eat outdoors. Part of the course is learning how to use map and compass to navigate in nature. We will also learn about everyman’s rights (jokamiehenoikeudet) and what to do in a case of emergency.
The course has two parts: a theory lesson in Maunulan ulkoilumaja in Helsinki Central Park, and a hiking practice in Sipoonkorpi National Park.
